I received a beautiful PM Addy in the mail today. She has a faint smoke smell that I take care of, I just wish the seller hadn't sprayed her like crazy with febreeze!
Anyway, do you use the regular brush to fix her hair? I'm concerned about the texture and breakage with a brush. Does a pick do a better job?
    TIA,

I use a brush, and have no problems. I've had mine since 1993, too. I just don't brush her hair all day long...LOL!!!!

My MIL got me the wig brush. If I didn't want ot get that, I'd get a simple plastic brush with wide bristles--not like thick bristled hoghair ones--and only use it on her hair. Addy has the same kind of hair I use when I get my extentions.

When I dunked Addy, I shampooed out the Downy and then coated her hair in conditioner. I used a wig brush and a wide toothed comb to brush her out. After she was dry, I just use the brush. Mine did lose some hair, but it wasn't a big deal. She was pretty knotted, so I expected some hair loss. Addy has so much hair, a little loss isn't noticable.
I got the picks from AG, and they are TINY. I haven't used them yet. If I were you, I would pop into Sally's or a beauty supply and get a regular pick if you want to try one. Look for one with no nubs on the end of the metal tines. My wig brush has no nubs, and I strongly prefer it to the ones AG makes.

Thanks. You gals are a wealth of knowledge, as usual. I do need to get a wig brush-gave mine to my niece for her new AG doll.
I'll get by Sallys tomorrow for a brush, pick-maybe both. I also need to pick up more Downey. We have a couple girls that are envious of our "Downey'd" girls with silky hair.

    Thanks again,
    Stacird

I use a wire pick from Sally's and it works great. Loved the price at 39 cents!
